Before we discuss high copper levels it is important that you are achieving the most accurate reading by following the Copper Test Kit Instructions carefully.
Your copper reading should be between 0.2-0.5ppm.
Once you have confirmed that you have a high copper level above 0.6ppm, it is important that the pH level is kept within range to avoid the copper from plating out and staining the pool surface. You should act quickly and reduce the ION output to ZERO on the Naked System, follow the instructions HERE to lower the copper level.
Dilution is the best method for reducing copper levels quickly, so it may be a case of draining water out of the pool and topping up with fresh water depending on how high the copper level is.
Every pool has different sanitisation demands depending on the environment, such as garden beds close by and overhanging trees dropping debris into the pool to name a few. If you do have a higher than normal copper reading, you may need to reduce the amount of copper being produced by the system down from the 20% default setting. Some pools can be completely sanitised with the system running on as low as 5% ION output but we have found that the default setting of 20% will cater for majority of swimming pools.
