Learn more about your pool when heating is installed and how to adjust your Naked System to suit higher water temperatures.
If you have only one pump installed to operate both the sanitising and heating systems, then the Naked System and the heat pump need to be connected with the Naked Heat Pump Interface Cable.
Here’s how they’re connected:
- The pool pump is connected directly into the Naked control unit, which means it turns on and off according to the schedule you set on the Naked controller. This is important because the system needs water flow to generate the Copper Ions and keep the pool sanitised.
- If you’re using a heat pump, it will also be connected to the Naked Control Unit via the Naked Heat Pump Interface Cable. The Naked system can then ensure the pool pump continues running if and when the heater is demanding water flow to keep the water at the desired temperature, even outside the normal filtration schedule. This ensures your heat pump can operate safely and efficiently. If the heat pump is demanding the pool pump to be on you will notice HP will be displayed in the top right hand corner of the Naked display screen.
- Once the water reaches the set temperature, or the programmed run time ends, the system will automatically turn off the heater and pump as needed.
Why This Is Important:
This setup makes sure the pump only runs when necessary, saving you energy while still giving you a sanitised and heated pool. It also ensures constant water flow whenever the heater is active — because without that flow, the heater won’t function correctly and could be damaged.
